We expect our pupils to wear school uniform. This has the support of parents and we believe wearing uniform helps nurture a sense of school identity and pride in belonging to Prestonfield. Fashion clothes are inappropriate school wear and football strips are not allowed. Particular brand names and colours can cause conflict between children, specifically of a bullying nature. The wearing of school uniform helps eliminate this.

Our school colours are royal blue and gold. The uniform range, which can be ordered through the school, consists of a royal blue sweatshirt with school logo, and royal blue or white polo shirt with school logo. There is also a royal blue fleece and reversible waterproof / fleece jacket for outdoor wear. Trousers and skirts or pinafores are grey, black or navy. Pupils should wear suitable outdoor shoes to school and have a pair of indoor shoes to change into.

Children must change into proper kit for P.E. lessons. The kit comprises blue or navy shorts, white t-shirts and gym shoes available to purchase from the School Office. This change of clothing is important for ease of movement and to encourage good habits of health and hygiene. Trainers are not allowed, as they are unsafe footwear for P.E. apparatus work. Jewellery must not be worn for P.E.

In order to protect clothing from paints and glue, we ask parents to provide an overall, apron or old shirt. As many areas of the school are carpeted, children must have a clean pair of gym shoes for indoor use only. It is really important that the children’s clothes are clearly labelled. There is a lost property box outside the Janitor’s Office.
